The DAF believes that the
success and triumphs of citizens with disabilities provides them
with skills that can be used by all of us overcoming personal
challenges. The DAF teaches us about self-motivation, respect
for others and valuing our own lives.
The DAF motto is:
"Each of us has a gift that needs to be given; a call
that needs to be heard; an experience that needs to be shared."
This original program uses
the special qualities of people with disabilities to teach today's
youth about motivation and self-esteem during difficult times.
Sharon Sacks had juvenile
rheumatoid arthritis since the age of two. Through the support
of family and friends, she had the courage to share her trials
and successes through speaking. Sharon's positive spirit and life
of perseverance was an inspiration to all that knew her.
Since her untimely passing
at the age of 43 Sharon continues to be a driving force in motivating
others with disabilities to tell their experiences.
Jim Nunes has continued as
a motivational speaker and trainer. He has worked in several Orange
County school districts for the past seven years. He has traveled
throughout the United Stated performing and speaking in over 500
assembly performances that
promote self-esteem and motivation to today's youth.

you have expertise in grant writing or would like to be a speaker
